Project Overview
Scherrer Construction contacted us on behalf of a residential homeowner in East Troy, WI. They were looking for a custom driveway gate and two matching walkway gates to complete the property’s exterior. The customer’s primary goal was to keep pets safely enclosed while enhancing the look and consistency of their outdoor space.
We scheduled an on-site meeting within two days to walk through the job alongside the general contractor and homeowner. During the walkthrough, we confirmed that the client wanted all three gates, one driveway, and two pedestrian gates to share the same design for a cohesive look.
Project Challenges and Goals
The gates had to fit existing masonry openings while maintaining both function and appearance. This meant precise measurement, thoughtful planning, and close coordination with the contractor throughout the design and installation phases.

Gate Fabrication Process
All metal fabrication took place in our shop, using a mix of precision equipment and hand-finished welding techniques. Tools and machines used included:
- CNC roller – to shape the curved arch sections consistently
- Band saw – for structural cuts and framing
- CNC plasma table – to cut detailed elements cleanly
- Aluminum TIG welder – for clean, detailed work
- Aluminum MIG welder – for structural strength
Each gate was carefully fabricated to match the opening sizes, with special attention given to frame strength, swing alignment, and latch installation. Once completed, all gates were powder-coated black for a weather-resistant finish that complements the surrounding stone and architectural details.
